Is transference awareness at the heart of creative writing?

The psychotherapeutic idea of transference (unwittingly redirecting emotional roles from one person to another) 

can be used to map out the imagined call and response of feelings between author, characters, narrators and readers.

In this workshop we will make roles and feeling maps with words and arrows of bits of fictional writing and see how something surprising and unexpected of ourselves is transferred onto or into our characters and their fictional lives regardless of our best intentions to hide the author's voice.
